Bicentennary of Holy Trinity Kelso

Two Hundred Years Old!!!!

Holy Trinity Kelso is the oldest parish west of the Mountains.

In 1825 the Anglican Parish of Kelso was established. On 30th May the leader of the Church of England in Australia, Archdeacon Scott, met with Governor Brisbane and planned 12 districts (or parishes); 11 were on the Cumberland Plain and the 12th was west of the mountains, here at Kelso. On 6th July, Lord Bathurst, on behalf of the King, appointed Rev Keane to come to be our first minister… and so in 2025 we celebrate 200 years of the gospel of Jesus being proclaimed west of the Great Dividing Range.

We remember the past, we live for Jesus in the present and we look forward to positive Christian ministry in the future; for as the writer to the Hebrews puts it, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8)

In 2025 there will be celebrations throughout the year, especially a Thanksgiving Service on May 3rd at 11am. Please join us at this or many of the other events. You will be most welcome.
